:30, another press conference will be held in new orleans. coaches jim and john harbaugh are expected to speak this morning. kron four's will tran is also live from new orleans with the latest on what's happening down there just days before the super bowl. we'll be checking in with him at 4:30. in preparation for the super bowl, the niners practiced outside yesterday for the first time in new orleans. and the baltimore ravens were briefly right nearby. the niners practice overlapped for 10 minutes with the ravens, although drapes from local merchants were used to separate the practices and ensure privacy. coach jim harbaugh credited the collaborative effort to quote ""cooperating sprits."" practice has been held inside at tulane university the last few days due to weather conditions. linebackers aldon smith and ahmad brooks were limited in practice for the second day with shoulder injuries. >> and we all know that when the raven and the niners play each other on sunday, their coaches will make n-f- l history. melissa raney has more on the story behind the brothers. >> this sunday, tens of boun

alto. cbs 5 reporter john knapp is in menlo park with the latest. >> reporter: we're on the eastern edge of menlo park, not far from bay front. apparently this is where all of this began and happen. two vehicles pulled up to those traffic lights. one of those vehicles had six people in it. there was some kind of altercation. a gun came out and bullets with fired at the back of the victim vehicle, the mother and the child were shot. here is detective -- or rather commander dave bertinni of the menlo park police. >> at this point, the two victims are at stanford hospital in stable condition. my understanding is that the injuries to the child are wounds to the legs. and a graze to the led. to the mother, there's also wounds to the legs. but they're all in stable conditioning. they are non-life-threatening injuries at this time. >> reporter: what we do know is the car at the intersection went south. at that point, they found a mcdonald's, apparently called police and ambulance. and they were taken to stanford hospital where they're

ramsey. the case remains unsolved and now reports say a grand jury had voted to indict john and patsy ramsey. but the district attorney refused to sign the indictment, believing he could not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. an attorney for john ramsey says indicting him would have been a gross miscarriage of justice. >> this case was so huge back then. fascinating to learn that both parents were indicted. the legal question is, did the d.a. have a legal obligation to sign it under colorado law? because some analysts are saying he should have signed it and moved to dismiss the charges in open court. >> that's remarkable. i don't think i've ever heard of that. typically, what d.a.'s want to do is they want the grand jury to decide. because then the decision is not on you as the district attorney, it's on the people of the grand jury. it is like the tribe has spoken. so if you have a grand jury indictment, then even if you don't prove your case, you still have done your job. it's remarkable to me that you would get that indictment yet not sign it. >> it was such a high profile c
